The HDD camcorder, which can also be referred to as a video camera recorder, is a kind of a digital device that combines two technologies–a video camera plus a video recorder–into a single unit. As the name HDD camcorder implies, to get the concept of the name “camcorder,” you take the first three letters from the word “camera” and the last six letters from the word “recorder”; when the two are combined, you get the word “camcorder.” In the days before HDD camcorders were digitalized, VHS cassettes and micro cassettes were used in place of the hard disk drive. These digitalized versions are packaged as video camera recorders.

A camera has always been a source of happiness for us. It helps us to preserve our happy memories for a very long time. The Camera has come a long way right from the day of its conception. But its focus has remained the same-to present us with the pictures of our loved ones. At its inception camera had to be mounted on a tripod stand, a large black cloth was required to cover the camera and the cameraman lifted the cloth a little bit, put his head underneath the cloth and clicked the camera. It was a time taking and cumbersome process but nevertheless, people wanted their pictures taken to preserve the memories. At that time, pictures were taken at very rare occasions because it was quite costly. The camera changed its form and became handy; now everybody could use them. But it was not that easy because if you could not focus on the subject properly then your effort would be wasted. You had no way of knowing whether the snaps you had shot were alright or not. But now we have stepped into the era of digital camera.
This is the sequel to our hilarious green screen project
Before flash memory and USB ports existed, digital cameras stored their images on an internal 3½-inch floppy disk drive. Yes, a floppy disk camera! This Sony MVC-FD7 camera was introduced in late 1997, and is designed much like Sony’s camcorders of the time — it even uses the same battery. With 10X optical zoom and autofocus, the quality of the optics is very good, but in order to fit about 20 photos on one 1.44 MB floppy disk, the image files are compressed to such an extent that they always turn out fuzzy and grainy — but no worse than any other digital camera from the ’90s.
Choosing a digital camera can be a very frustrating and time consuming experience with so many makes and models to choose from including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Panasonic and others. Although the most significant feature when choosing a digital camera is the number of megapixels, which determines the quality of your photos, it is not the only consideration when choosing a digital camera. Items to take into consideration when choosing a camera are cost, resolution, exposure control, type of memory card, and batteries.

| Review by JH (Washington State) 2010-06-24 I previously owned a Sony Handycam with a hard drive. I was satisfied with the camera but out of warranty it failed. I wanted an SD camera again as I don't want the hassle of dealing with the huge file sizes and haven't heard a lot of good things about the lower priced HD cameras. This camera is a very good SD camera. I like how it has... Read more Sony DCR-SX63 Flash reviews | ||

| Review by Carlos (USA) 2010-07-19 I installed it in my motorcycle handlebar through a clamp adaptor. Videos are quite stable, clear, they make the cut once published in youtube. You can get reasonable stable and quality videos while driving. Do not expect same video quality you would get from a 300 US$ webcam. There are other nice application for this mini webcam.. in the off... Read more Veho VCC003MUVI Micro reviews | ||
